Navigating a foreign country can be scary and I know it takes a lot of research.
These are means of transportation I have used myself and I can recommend. I do share more in detail the services in the blog post for the specific Destination.
Flights

Google flights is doing pretty good suggesting great deals and it gives you the data to compare prices so you can easily see when a fare goes up or down.
Just make sure you check the flight details and connections.

My all time favorite site to shop flights is Expedia. They do have a rewards program from which I’ve actually collected a good amount of money that goes towards the next flight. I’ve had a good experience with their customer service as well.
Rental Cars & Rideshare

Uber is a rideshare you can find pretty much everywhere but just in case click on the link to confirm service in your destination. I do like all the safety features it offers specially when travelling solo.

Panama has a rideshare service from women to women, Muver. The app works like Uber, just that is only women.
Trains

Amtrak is the main rail transportation in the US. It also offers auto train if you want to travel with your car but it only covers a few states in the East Coast. The system does not cover the entire country either so you have to check if the existing routes work for your trip.
Best to buy tickets online.

SunRail connects towns in Central Florida from DeLand to Downtown Orlando. Very easy to ride.
You can purchase tickets in the train station or online.

The train system in Panama city, Panama. Very convenient to avoid traffic specially during peak hours. It connects all the way from Tocumen International Airport to Albrook Bus Terminal taking you pretty much everywhere in the city at an affordable price.
You can buy and recharge a reusable card in a train station.
